Boellstorf. A Ludicrous Discipline? Ethnography and Game Studies . This is a really early article (the word "cyber" is still used) where the author situates gaming in terms of the ludic (= "game" / "play" think of ludicrous). Or you might want to look at Ch 1 of his Coming of Age in Second Life c. pp. 21-22 and situate in terms of Boellstorf's ideas of virtual worlds. As Jaq Evans of La Trobe says, Boellstorf's point is that we need to take the social and cultural elements of these worlds seriously; both on their own terms and in relation to the offline/analog world.

Note in this article, I don't think Rea is arguing that gaming develops good skills managing Korean society, rather the culture of Korea affects how the gamers perceive gaming.
